Pit Van Dusen (1897-1975) was a leader among the ecumenists, and worked tirelessly for the World Council of Churches, which eventually joined with the International Missionary Council. He traveled around the world twice, touching down at some sixty countries on six continents. As such, he was uniquely positioned to write this book describing how missionaries had arrived in Southeast Asia and the Southwest Pacific Islands before Western military. 148 pages. 5.25 x 7.5 inches.

Inscribed and dated 1969 by the author on the front pastedown, and SIGNED again on the title page.

Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

Binding is strong and sound.
Red cloth over boards have sharp corners, and are mostly clean, excepting a small light stain on front and a tiny dot on back.
Covers have light edgewear.
Gilt title on spine is faded, and spine ends are rubbed and softened.
Inside pages are lightly tanned with age.
Overall, the pages are clean, with very rare light pencil marginalia.
Text block edges are dusty.
Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
