An early reviewer of this volume hailed the advanced state at which the practice had arrived, where a volume of 500 pages could contain the knowledge necessary to attend to the medical needs of a family.  The text addresses the medical particularities of relocating from a cold to a warm climate, as well as strategies for managing communicable disease.
