Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition, with a GOOD DJ under Mylar.

• Black cloth covers are mostly clean.  Boards show some edgewear.  Corners are sharp. 
• Spine has silver text and is bright with softened ends.
• Binding is secure. 
• Illustrated end papers/ pastedowns show little sign of age or wear.
• Interior is age-toned.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges are foxed.  See photos.  
• DJ is nicely preserved behind Mylar and is backed with archival paper.
• Close examination of DJ reveals edgewear, bumping, chipped corners, closed tears along head, staining, sunning at spine.  See photos.

A very good copy of the first U.S. edition of Anne Frank's Diary, originally published in Dutch in Amsterdam, 1947.  An early printing; First Edition not stated on the copyright page, but the publication date is on both title page and copyright page.  Original First Issue dust jacket with $3.00 price intact on jacket return, plus slight angled trims to the top and bottom of front and rear flaps, to slide into a protective sleeve.  Photo illustrations on the pastedowns and dust jacket.

With an introduction by Eleanor Roosevelt.
