• Black cloth covers have blind tooled decorative border and gilt title. 
• Boards show some wear esp. at shoulders, aging, heavy edgewear.  Corners are frayed, with exposed board.  See photos.
• Spine, with no text, is worn, with chipped ends.  See photos. 
• Binding is fragile; rear fep is loose.  
• Pastedowns and feps are toned, no front fep present, lower right corner shows damage.  See photos. 
• Illustrations, including fold-out maps, are bright and clear.  Some closed tears at folds, marginal age-toning.  
• Interior exhibits marginal toning, damage to lower right page corners, damage to rear fep at gutter.  
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.

A complete copy of this very scarce atlas.  Two-page colored maps of the United States and of New Jersey, plus a two-page spread showing topographical maps of Hunterdon and Somerset Counties.  All the localities of Hunterdon County are covered, and in addition the atlas includes gazetteer information drawn from the 1870 Census.
