A very good copy of this monograph dedicated to the architecture of Luis Barragán (1902-1988), photographed by Armando Salas Portugal (1916-1995) who was the architect's official photographer for most of his career.

Luis Barragán was Mexico's great modern master.  He discarded architecture's International Style, going on to create works that show a respect for nature, a sensitivity to regional influence - he frequently used adobe, stucco, and unfinished wood - and, in his later works, a reliance on intense colors. (Jacket)  The rich purple covers and vibrant color photographs of this volume reflect these elements of Barragán's work.

All of Barragán's major commissions are documented, and a number of essays by photographers and architects is included.
