• Blue cloth covers remain free of any major signs of age or wear. 
• Boards are gently scuffed with mild rubbing along the edges.
• Corners are sharp and gently rubbed. 
• Spine remains firm with gilt lettering and publisher's logo with gently rubbed and softened ends. 
• Binding is firm. 
• Endpapers are faded along the perimeter. 
• Interior is gently age-toned though remains free of major signs of age or wear. 
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Textblock top edge is darkened and stained. 
• DJ is nicely preserved behind Mylar and is backed with archival paper.
• DJ is age-toned with mild stains in areas and exhibits creases and minor tears along the edges, most notably to the rear upper left where there is a 1.25" closed tear; spine is gently creased with mild stains in areas and exhibits portions missing from the ends, most notably the head. This is the only historical directory devoted solely to newspapers published in New Jersey. 
It lists all newspapers published in New Jersey from September 12, 1765 through December 31, 1970. It gives the title, frequency and duration of each newspaper. It records mergers and changes in title and place of publication. It denotes religious, political, ethnic and other special-interest newspapers. Entries are arranged alphabetically under place of publication.
