A generally Very Good copy of this Scarce First Edition. Publisher's brown cloth covers. Spine shows some rounding. Foxing to fore edge of text block reaches to page margins in some places. A few stray notes in pencil by a student hand. This textbook was written to bring classroom education up to date with scientific advances. Amply illustrated with engravings to show the systems presented.
In addition to the illustrations, tables, glossary of terms, and problems included, the author has included plates showing inventions of his devising. Called the Planetellus, Heliotellus, and Lunatellus, these were mechanical models designed to aid comprehension.
