• Features B&W frontispiece of Rosseau of Volume I.
• Spines are beautifully designed with red title blocks, black number blocks and elaborate gilt trim and illustrations.
• Binding is tight.
• Full leather binding shows scuffing to both perimeters.
• Leather boards appear to be lightly warped with some minor scuffing.
• Leather along spine is dry and cracked.
• Corners are bumped with some exposure.
• Each volume shows a 1.5" split at upper right spine edge but both boards are tight to spine.
• Volume I shows brief note in pencil of ffep, signature at top of title page.
• Volume II shows signature in pencil on ffep.
• Minor foxing to interiors otherwise both are very clean.
• No writing, highlighting, underlining or other intentional marks.
• Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
