A very good copy, with full color lithographed plate illustrations, of this 1853 edition. The text is an English rendering of the original German by Gustav Süs, relaying the tale of two chickens. Wear to the cover boards; the interior is bright and crisp. Four lithograph illustrations, in color, are present.
Inscribed in pencil on the front fep: "George W. Pearson from his Father."
