Hardback is overall in GOOD- condition.

• Book exhibits wear and marks commensurate with age and much use.
• Classic 19th century binding has rounded spine.
• Original brown cloth over boards has some faded gilt on front and spine.
• Covers have significant edgewear, with varying amounts of exposed board, especially at corners and front head edge.
• Shoulders are rubbed, with a half-inch chip near front foot.
• Spine ends are tattered.
• Covers have some dirt and stains and rubbing.
• Binding is shaken and fragile, and cocked with front overhang.
• Front and back hinges are cracked, with binding fabric still intact.
• Inside pages are tanned, with some scattered foxing, smudges, and stains.
• Interior is free of marginalia and highlighting, but does have a few childish scribbles, mostly on plate backs and a couple ads.
• Several pages are separating from their signatures and starting to detach from binding.
• Owner's sig on contents page.
• Pages 309-328 were bound in upside down and backward.
• Text block edges are darkened and dusty.
• Photos try to offer a sample of what to expect. Not all damage could be captured.
• Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
