A very good copy of this account of travels and exploration in Tibet in the late nineteenth century. Sarat Chandra Das (1849-1917) was an Indian scholar of Tibetan language and culture. In the course of two journeys from India to Tibet in 1879 and 1881-1882, he visited previously unknown areas and gathered many manuscripts for study.
With numerous fold out maps, drawn in ink with color, in near fine condition.
