Light in August

by William Faulkner

Fourth printing.  New York:  Harrison Smith & Robert Haas, 1932

Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition, with a GOOD DJ under Mylar.

  • Tan buckram covers are mostly clean, with blue text.  Boards show a few smudges.  Corners are sharp.
  • Spine has blue text and shows a ripple, with softened ends.  See photos.
  • Binding is strong.
  • Pastedowns and feps have a bookseller stamp at back.
  • Interior is gently age-toned.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
  • Text block edges have publisher's ink at head, untrimmed fore edges, a small ding at head near page 112.  See photos.
  • Pictorial DJ is nicely preserved behind Mylar and is backed with archival paper.
  • Close examination of DJ reveals edgewear, closed tears and chips at head, chipped corners, staining to back cover.  See photos.
