Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition, with a GOOD DJ under Mylar.

• Blue cloth covers are mostly clean, with gilt titles.  Boards show some edgewear.  Corners are bumped.  See photos. 
• Spine has gilt text and is bright with crushed ends.
• Binding is strong. 
• Pastedowns and feps have some staining. 
• Interior is gently age-toned, exhibits some minimal corner creasing at upper edge.  See photos.  
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges are foxed, have some dust at head.  
• DJ is nicely preserved behind Mylar and is backed with archival paper.
• Illustrated DJ has some edgewear and bumping at foot, heavy bumping at head with chips and closed tears, staining, a crease along spine.  See photos.

A very good signed copy of this first edition, with the original dust jacket.  Edward Lucas White (1866-1934) was an American author.  He wrote several historical novels, but is best known for his fantasy horror stories, based on his nightmares.  Matrimony is a different kind of book, autobiographical without being his autobiography, biographical without being a biography of his wife Agnes, a paean to her and to the happiness he found in their marriage.
