Very scarce 1846 edition compiled by the brothers of Daniel Holbrook Gilette, who were also Reverends. Chapter I covers his birth in Albany, NY and his ancestry and follows through his ordination, success, illness and recovery, letters to his brothers are included, most addressed to Brother A. 234 pages. 4.75" by 7.25".

Hardback is overall in GOOD condition. 

• Embossed blue cloth covers show significant soiling and light wear. 
• Corners are bumped and partially exposed. 
• Spine has faded gilt lettering with embossed bands and shows light wear to the length and pushed ends. 
• Binding is secure. 
• Endpapers are lightly age-toned with foxing. 
• Front pastedown bears light writing in pencil while the rear pastedown shows a prominent stain. Please see photos. 
• Frontispiece is present and clean with accompanying tissue guard. 
• Interior is gently age-toned with foxing. 
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges are darkened with signs of light wear. 
• Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
