Memoirs of the Life of Mrs. Abigail Waters

Waters died in Boston on November 22, 1816 in the 96th year of her life. This sermon was given by Joshua Huntington, pastor of the Old South Church. Includes frontis of Waters with birth and death dates. 144 pages. 3.5" by 5.75". 

Ephemera: a handwritten note in brown aged ink.

Hardback is overall in GOOD condition. 

• Leatherbound covers are show commensurate wear and aging. 
• Boards show dirt, scuffing, abrasions to the finish and more notable wear along the edges where leather is missing. 
• Corners are bumped and worn with exposed boards. 
• The front shoulder is cracked though intact along the front hinge. 
• Spine has red title block with gilt lettering and border and shows six remaining gilt bands; leather to spine is cracked and flaking with portions of the ends missing, most notably to the tail where the textblock is partially exposed. Please see photos. 
• Binding is secure. 
• Front pastedown bears a pencil marks and numbers. Please see photos. 
• Ffep bears writing in aged ink. 
• Frontispiece is present though partially detached and shows foxing and age-toning with a tear running diagonally at the head margin. 
• Ephemera is aged with no appreciable wear. 
• Interior is lightly wrinkled with gentle age-toning and foxing. 
• Pages exhibit typical age-warping and expected creases, with some bumped corners.
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges are darkened, with a protruding signature along fore edge.
• Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
