This copy includes the frontis and numerous portrait and building plates, complete with captioned tissue guards. This copy also includes a document inserted on a free end page, detailing a "Rough Estimate of All Expenses of the Princeton Sesquicentennial Celebration, May 20th, 1896." An interesting list that includes the "orchestra and choir for concert at Alexander Hall, to be brought and returned by special train," it includes hand-written expected costs for each line item. 460 pages. 9.5 x 12.5 inches.

Provenance: Bookplate identifies the previous owner as Hugh Henderson Hamill. He was a prominent local involved in banking, and likely had a role in the financing of this celebration.

Hardback is overall in GOOD+ condition.

• In original green cloth with gilt-accented red and black school shield.
• Binding is firm.
• Covers are are aged, with some soil and fading, as well as expected wear at perimeters.
• Board is exposed at corners of covers and spine ends.
• Spine with gilt text is sun faded with worn and chipped spine ends.
• Interior is lightly age-toned.
• Very minimal scattered foxing or smudges.
• Financial plan is joined with 2 universal brass fasteners, used as paste points onto ffep.
• Budget is mimeographed, with hand-written ink numbers per line item.
• Head of text block has bright gilt with a few marks and some dust.
• Fore and foot edges are deckled and dusty.
• Scattered edgewear to pages is apparent, with tiny chips and a few rare closed tears in margin of pages and a couple tissue guards.
• Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
