Six staple-bound pamphlets, in stiff cream wrappers, overall in Very Good condition.  Bumping to the outer corners and some tanning, in particular to Pamphlet No. 1.

A rare, full set of An Introduction to the Economic Nature of the United States, Gold and Work, What is Money For?, A Visiting Card, Social Credit: an Impact , and America, Roosevelt and the Causes of the Present War, mid-World War II economic tracts by Ezra Pound (1885-1972).  Translated from the original Italian by Carmine Amore and John Drummond, this edition marks their first publication in English.

Pound offered in these texts an extensive justification of the relationship between his poetry and his politico-economic stances.  At the same time, though, Pound’s obsessive denouncement of usury is in evidence throughout, undergirding much of the fascism and antisemitism that can also be found in these pages.  These pamphlets are an illuminating, often troubling companion to some of the most important poetry of the 20th century.
