• White cloth binding with black and brown illustration. Black cloth spine.
• Spine head and foot are lightly rubbed. Board corners are lightly rubbed.
• Binding is secure.
• DJ is preserved in Mylar and backed with archival paper. 
• Front flap of DJ is price-clipped.
• DJ is tanned with some dirt. Spine is sunned with chipped ends. 
• Perimeters of DJ have some wear, including closed tears and creasing.
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.

Ruth Krauss (1901-1993) was one of the most widely celebrated children’s book authors of all time, with a few dozen titles to her name. Maurice Sendak illustrated eight of her books, and in the year of her passing he honored her with a New Yorker cover illustration that includes one of her books.

Phyllis Rowand (d.1963) was an American illustrator and writer of children's books.
