• Olive cloth covers with elaborate gilt ornament and title. 
• Boards show exposure, staining, wear, edgewear.  Corners are bumped, scuffed, with exposed board.  See photos. 
• Spine has gilt text and and illustration and is darkened with chipped, frayed ends.  See photos.
• Binding is fragile, with some play at rear cover and pages that open to stitches, as at pg. 140.  See photos. 
• Pastedowns and feps have some staining, bookseller marks, owner's inscription.  
• Frontispiece is present.
• Illustrations are clear; no tissue guards. 
• Interior is gently age-toned, exhibits some smudges, marginal toning, a long tear at edge where page 230 was opened.  See photos.  
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges have deckle fore edges.

A Good copy of the First American Edition of the book by J.M. Barrie (1860-1937) which brought Peter Pan and Wendy to children everywhere.  Publisher's olive cloth, with good plus top board illustrated in gilt, exposure and wear at edges; back board shows staining and damage.  No tissue covers to the illustrations by F.D. Bedford (1864-1954), owner's marks by two generations of a family.  Interior is toned but very readable with generous font; a few marginal stains and one poorly cut opening.

Marked on the fep William B. Sloan, Xmas 1915, with Hugh Sloan written in pencil in a juvenile hand on the facing fep.  A possible attribution to the Princeton family.  

First Edition, published October 1911, with the Scribners seal on the copyright page.
