A Very Good copy of this 19th-century manual on cardiac disease by the French physician François-Amilcar Aran (1817-1861).  Thin boards show some age; text block is crisp and tight, with moderate foxing throughout.  Little seen outside institutional holdings. 

Aran presents and assesses theories of heart disease put forward by a number of physicians, including Senac, Corvisart, and Hope.  Translated from the French by Wm. A. Harris MD for this first U.S. edition.
