Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

• Blue cloth covers are mostly clean, with gilt text, rulling, and decoration.  
• Boards show some wear.  Corners are sharp.
• Spine has gilt text and is a little faded, with bumped foot, and crushed head end. 
• Binding is intact.  Gathering pages 48-64 shows cracks at either side.  See photos.  
• Pastedowns and feps have some light foxing.  
• Frontispiece is present. 
• Foldout charts are in good condition.  
• Ephemera, an Errata slip with note from the Author is loose inside the front cover.  
• Illustrations are bright and clear.  
• Interior is gently age-toned, with some smudges.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks. 
• Text block edges have gilt along head.

Personal recollections, family history, and genealogical information pertaining to the Bissell family, first settled in Connecticut in 1640.  The name is that of Bissell carpet sweeper fame.
