Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition, with a VERY GOOD DJ under Mylar.

• Red covers are mostly clean, with gilt decoration.  Boards show a little edgewear.  
• Spine has gilt text and is bright with bumped head end.
• Binding is strong. 
• Dark blue end papers/ pastedowns show little to no sign of age or wear.
• Gift inscription on half title page.  
• Interior exhibits minimal signs of age and wear.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges are foxed, more so at head.  See photos. 
• DJ looks great behind Mylar and is backed with archival paper.
• Close examination of DJ reveals light edgewear including possible bumps, rubbing, and/or tiny closed tears, fading to spine panel.  See photos.

A very good copy of this first collection of poems by American poet Sharon Olds (b. 1942).  Publisher's red boards and color blocked DJ, showing exposure along spine.  Inscribed to friends on the half title page and signed on the title page by Olds.
