A collection of the lyrics from some of the most original, nostalgic, and evocative songs composed on the West at its decline. Written for Christopher Montgomery's music, Waldrop's lyrics are inspiring and melancholy, yet have a very perceptible touch of irony which tells of the end of the period they were designed to mirror. A precious song book to treasure as a reminiscence of the Old West. Approx. 30 pages. 7.75 x 11.25 inches.

• Volume is in overall very good condition with lightly faded covers and mildly toned interior.
• Quarter leatherbound. 
• Leather bound covers show mild fading as well as some white staining on cloth, mostly on back, and some toning on leather binding near edges and spine shoulders.
• Boards exhibit scarce scuffing on leather, at two places along shoulder of spine on front.
• Corners are minimally rubbed with a bump to upper right corner of front. (See photos)
• Spine has blind-tooled text and is sunned.
• Spine ends are firm with discreet rubbing mostly at shoulder ends.
• Binding is strong and secure yet not tight.
• Endpapers show mild wear from minor toning, some very light edge foxing, and other minor stains as well as gutter between rear ffeps. (See photos)
• Interior is minimally age-toned with uniform warping apparent at foot edge, as expected with heavy stock paper. 
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges are deckled, and show toning commensurate with interior of book.
• Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
