The book contains the texts from a series of Sunday Evening Lectures originally given by Charles Henry Vail (1866-1924) in Albion, New York.  Vail was a Universalist clergyman and political activist and writer.  In 1901 he ran for Governor of New Jersey as the candidate of the Socialsit Party of America.  A thirty-second degree Mason, his hope for this book was that the lectures would "contribute to a better understanding of the Order by the general public."

Stated First Edition, as per the title page.
