As the Book Review of the New York Genealogical and Biographical Record (1945) noted, this volume incorporates considerable material on a number of colonists and their immediate descendants. "The pedigree represents a blending of New England and Hudson Valley families with five Mayflower passengers included among the former."
Signed and inscribed on the front end paper by John Greene Briggs: "To Benjamin Harold Tyrrel and Son Thomas, With Best Wishes 1940." This book is a copy inscribed and given to the printer who was responsible for its production. An obituary of Tyrrel inserted at the back cover notes that he was was "a well known proprietary printer in New York."
