Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition, with a VERY GOOD DJ under Mylar.

• Black cloth covers are mostly clean.  Boards show some edgewear.  Corners are bumped. 
• Spine has gilt text a little dimmed and is cocked with bumped ends.  See photos.
• Binding is secure.
• Pastedowns and feps have some staining at gutter. 
• Interior is gently age-toned.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• DJ looks nice behind Mylar and is backed with archival paper.
• DJ has some edgewear, chipped corners, bumping along head edge, closed tears along foot edge, some staining, wear at return folds.  See photos.

A Very Good copy, with dust jacket, of the First American Edition of this novel by J.B. Pick.  Pick (1921-2015) was an English writer and novelist; a Quaker, he was a consciencious objector at the outbreak of World War II, serving in the Friends Ambulance Unit.

The Last Valley was the first novel by Pick to be published in the United States.  It is set in the 17th century against the backdrop of the Thirty Years War.
