- Blue cloth covers are mostly clean, with blind stamped ornament. Boards show a little edgewear. Corners are sharp.
- Spine has gilt text and is bright with bumped ends.
- Binding is secure.
- Pastedowns and feps have some staining.
- Interior is gently age-toned. Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
- Text block edges have untrimmed fore and foot edges, have blue ink along head.
- DJ looks great behind Mylar and is backed with archival paper.
- Close examination of DJ reveals light edgewear including possible bumps, rubbing, and/or tiny closed tears, darkening along spine, price sticker on back, price-clipped on front return. See photos.

He was also acknowledged as an eminent abstractionist and a provocative thinker whose reputation has continued since his death.
