• Pastedowns and feps have some light staining, turned in corners at bottom edge. 
• Interior is gently age-toned, exhibits a little marginal toning, creased edge at pg. 86.    
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges have untrimmed fore and foot edges.

A Very Good Plus copy of the very scarce source book that served as the basis for the 1932 Universal Picture horror film directed by James Whale and starring Boris Karloff, Charles Laughton, and Gloria Stuart.  Publisher's blue cloth with illustrated title in navy blue.  Sunning to the spine and some roughness at the cut page openings, but overall a very nice example of this scarce title. 

Attractive decorated capital letters start each chapter.  Pages of publisher's adverts at back of book. 

Stated First Edition.  With Publisher's code M - B on copyright page.  Printed in the United States.
