Hardback set is overall in VERY GOOD- condition.

• Green cloth covers have blind tooled borders and decoration. 
• Boards show some bumping, scuffing, warping, edgewear.  Corners are bumped, bowed, scuffed, with exposed board.  See photos.
• Spines have gilt text and are a little sunned, with crushed ends.  See photos.  
• Bindings are secure. 
• Pastedowns and feps have some light foxing, bookseller markings, owner's marks.  
• Frontispiece is present at Volume 1 and has intact tissue guard.  
• Publilsher's catalogue at front of Volume 1.
• Owner's bookplate present on front pastedown.
• Interior is gently age-toned, exhibits some scattered foxing.  
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges have some dust, edgewear, uneven edges.  See photos.

A generally Very Good set, Complete in four volumes, of the essays by Scottish philosopher David Hume (1711-1776).  Publisher's sage green cloth. boards and spines decorated with blind tooling, with gilt titles on the spines.  Volume 1 has an engraved portrait of Hume as frontispiece, plus a twelve page catalogue from the publisher.  Some bumping and bowing to the boards, interiors are gently toned but unmarked, with a little stiffness in the bindings.  A nice set of this uniform printing of Hume's collected works and ancillary writings.

Owner's marks in numerous hands.  Ex libris Franz Carl Craf Folliot de Crenneville, per the handsome bookplate at front pastedown.
