A very good copy of this scarce first printing of the collected writings of American modernist Abraham Lincoln Gillespie (1895-1950). Text block is tight, wraps show little age.
Edited by Richard Milazzo and published by his legendary Out of London Press (New York), The Syntactic Revolution brings together all of Gillespie's writings, many not previously published. Gillespie was one of the most radical expatriate American writers in Paris in the 1920s and a contributor to Eugene Jolas' transition magazine.
The corpus of Gillespie's writings is supplemented by documentary photographs, a complete bibliography, and biographical notes.
