THE TOM-TOMS SPEAK, by Alfred LoCascio, Jr. [First Edition] Mystery Adventure

Product Description

The Tom-Toms Speak

by Alfred LoCascio, Jr.

First Edition. "Out of the tropics has spread a swelling tide of mystery and adventure; tales of an ageless people -- blood red, vital, intriguing. No book combining the levity of fiction with the history of those whose skins are dusky has been presented before to the civilized world. The mind of the savage is deeply saturated with spiritual lore and we of a modern age know better than to scoff, for little do we understand their powerful medicines and proven magic. There are countless legends about those who fish from outrigged log canoes or roam the veldts or yet hunt the great beasts of the purple hills. They are deeply significant for upon them are based the religions, tongues, and mannerisms off half the world.
The author's heart is of the tropics. Delving into the histories of its inhabitants he has probed the minds of these strange people, and though a white man, writes as simply as the natives hold palaver. The Tom-Toms Speak portrays their passions, loves, and emotions; their spiritual depth, joys and trepidations. It is fiction pregnant with fact and veined with their irrepressible humor." 5.5" by 8".
