• Pale orange patterned paper covers with tan buckram spine. 
• Boards show some edgewear, a spot near spine.  Corners are bumped and frayed, with exposed board.  See photos.  
• Spine has gilt text dimmed and is darkened, with softened ends.
• Binding is secure. 
• Pastedowns and feps have some owner's marks, some signs of separation at front cover.  See photos. 
• Frontispiece is present. 
• Illustrations are bright and clear, with plates tipped-in, with marginal age-toning, a few smudges in margins.  See photos.  
• Interior is gently age-toned, exhibits some marginal toning, some smudges, a corner fold at page 191.  See photos.  
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges have deckle fore and foot edges, have gilt along head.
